一 | Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, is currently the talk of the town. Many viewers have praised the performances, plot and music. While a section of netizens and critics has shared mixed reactions as well. The spy thriller also made a good impact on the box office. Amid this, Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan has showered love on the film. He took to Instagram last night to pen a note for the film and praised it. However, the War 2 actor said that he did not agree with the politics of the film. His post read, "I love cinema, I love people who climb into a vortex and let the story take control, spin them, shake them until what they want to say is purged out of them onto that screen. Dhurandhar is an example of that. Loved the storytelling. It’s cinema." Hrithik continued, "I may disagree with the politics of it, and argue about the responsibilities us filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world. Nevertheless, can’t ignore how loved and learnt from this one as a student of cinema. Amazing." Today, he shared another post on Dhurandhar that read, "Still can't get DHURANDHAR out of my mind. @adityadharfilms you are an incredible maker man. @ranveersingh the silent to the fierce what a journey and so damn consistent. #akshayekhanna has always been my fav and this film is proof why. @actormaddy bloody mad grace, strength and dignity!! But man @rakeshbedi what you did was phenomenal..what an ACT< brilliant!! A huge big round of applause for everyone especially the makeup and prosthetics dept! I can't wait for part 2!!" A lot of people praised Hrithik Roshan for being candid about not agreeing with the film's politics. A Reddit user wrote, "Interesting that this is the first time HR is making a political statement of sorts (he normally talks about the film and leaves it at that). Good chance this will cause some controversy…" Another netizen added, "In a world of PR curated everything, this feels refreshingly genuine." While several social media users felt his comments might invite backlash, most appreciated Roshan's honesty and noted his support for others' work and for cinema as a whole. 二 | Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, has been cleared for release by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). This has come after a week of legal and emotional scrutiny. The film was initially challenged in the Delhi High Court by the parents of late Major Mohit Sharma. He was a decorated Army officer. The film was at the centre of controversy after online chatter suggested the storyline mirrors real-life events. The High Court had directed the CBFC to examine the family’s objections and consult the Indian Army if needed. On Tuesday, the board approved the film, categorising it as a fictional work. Speaking exclusively to HT City, Major Mohit Sharma’s brother, Madhur Sharma, responded to the development. “I am sure the board followed the required process, and they acted quickly, which is a good thing,” he said. While the family has not been informed of the material the CBFC evaluated, Madhur believes due diligence would have been done. “They’ve called it fiction, so I hope the disclaimer is placed prominently.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ranveer Singh (@ranveersingh) However, he feels one key step was missed. “A screening for the parents could have been arranged,” he said. “It would have helped clear any social media misconceptions. People who lived with him are better positioned to recognise if any part resembles his life.” As social media intensified comparisons between Ranveer Singh’s character and the late officer following the trailer launch, Madhur himself had posted concerns online. He clarified why the family still went ahead with the petition: “There was a 36–48 hour gap between my tweet and Aditya Dhar’s clarification. The petition was filed within that window.” Madhur maintains the family isn’t seeking compensation or credit, only transparency. “We’re not asking for anything. We just want empathy. If the film is inspired by him, acknowledge it. If not, state clearly that the speculation is incorrect. This is about respecting every family that has lost a soldier.” The family will consult their legal team before deciding next steps.
