一 | (ECNS) -- The 13th Wuzhen Theatre Festival will run from Oct. 15 to 25 in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, featuring 25 productions from 10 countries. This year’s festival will be held under the theme “Serene Transcendence,” a phrase drawn from The Book of Jin that evokes a sense of inner calm and lofty aspiration. Organizers said the theme reflects the festival’s commitment to staying true to the original spirit of theatrical creation. The featured productions will be presented across five sections, with 71 performances of 25 plays staged over 11 days. The lineup includes 11 overseas productions from countries including Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Belgium and Chile, along with two China-international co-productions and 12 domestic works. The festival will open with The Wild Duck, directed by German theatre director Thomas Ostermeier and performed by Schaubühne Berlin. The production premiered at the 2025 Avignon Festival and received widespread acclaim. The closing production, Cosmos, will be directed by French director Maëlle Poésy and performed by Dijon-Burgundy Theatre. Based on the true story of NASA’s Mercury 13 program, the play explores the experiences of women who sought to become astronauts during the early years of the U.S. space program. The festival has also continued to provide a platform for young theatre creators. Over the past 12 years, its youth competition has attracted more than 10,000 applicants, selected over 800 young theatre artists and brought 197 productions to the stage, according to Wuzhen’s official website. For the first time, this year’s youth competition will open to applicants worldwide, inviting Chinese-language theatre creators from around the globe to submit works inspired by the themes of “gliding, fox and radio.” Huang Lei, co-founder and chief producer of the festival, said the competition welcomes both original works and adaptations of classics or literary works, with the aim of creating more opportunities for young artists and supporting the development of Chinese theatre. 。 A wave of excitement swept through Marvel fandom after a low-quality leaked teaser for Avengers: Doomsday briefly surfaced online. This teaser appears to confirm the return of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers. Though the clip was swiftly taken down, Marvel Studios has not issued any official confirmation.
The viral teaser opens on a deeply familiar and emotional note. Steve Rogers is shown arriving at the quiet home last seen at the end of Avengers: Endgame. He parks his motorcycle, removes his helmet, and walks toward the house in silence. In the next moment, Steve is seen holding his Captain America suit, staring at it thoughtfully. This visual strongly suggests an internal conflict between his peaceful retirement and the call of duty.
The teaser ends with a tender image of Steve cradling his baby, smiling in contentment, before cutting to black with a slate saying, “Steve Rogers will return in Avengers: Doomsday.”

This is followed by a clock-style countdown leading to the film’s release date. The teaser is believed to be one of four short previews planned exclusively for theatrical screenings of Disney’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, starting December 19.
Avengers: Doomsday is currently slated for a December 18, 2026 release. This follows a reshuffle of Marvel’s release calendar. The film will reportedly unite characters from the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts. This sets the stage for a mega crossover affair. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, has already been announced. It is set to arrive in December 2027.

The Russo brothers, Joe and Anthony, return to direct after helming some of Marvel’s biggest hits, including Infinity War and Endgame. A beloved face of the MCU, Robert Downey Jr. is set to re-enter the universe. He will be taking on a new role. Formerly Iron Man, the actor will now be seen as Victor Von Doom, aka Doctor Doom.
While Evans had repeatedly denied involvement in the project, the denial just echoes the now-familiar Marvel tradition of secrecy. Also Read: Chris Evans and Alba Baptista blessed with a baby girl?。
